Paul Smith lives in upstate New York with his wife and two sons, where he works with emotionally disturbed and mentally ill children. He earned a master’s degree in social sciences from Binghamton University in 1999.
A lifelong love of science fiction, fantasy, and superhero stories influences Paul’s writing. His largest on-line project was a popular weekly online series that generated over 20,000 views. The Jason and the Draconauts series is his first major work and has recently begun writing the fourth and final book in the series.
The Jason and the Draconauts series is a completely self-published project. The first three books were all funded with successful Kickstarters. The funds raised were primarily used to hire professional editing services, but also to purchase other publishing necessities like ISBN numbers and marketing.
This was a great story! Good pacing & length, clever plot, and interesting characters. I also loved the way it was a new and different take on dragon mythology. Who knew that dragons interacting with the modern world could be so fun? :) As an avid reader of dragon-centered books, I'd say this one would be very high on my YA dragon fantasy recommendation list.
